The iOS 27.3 release date is the next big question for iPhone owners now that iOS 27.2 is out. Apple has not announced a date. In fact, as of Friday, 30 October 2026, Apple has not released a single iOS 27.3 beta yet.
So this guide sticks to what we can check. It sets out the confirmed facts, Apple’s past timing, a likely window, and what you can do now. Every expectation is labeled as one.
Where iOS 27 stands today (confirmed)
Here is the iOS 27 timeline so far, taken from Apple’s security releases page and developer release feed:
- 14 September 2026: iOS 27 launched.
- 28 September 2026: iOS 27.0.1 arrived with fixes.
- 23 October 2026: iOS 27.1 shipped, but Apple lists it for iPhone Duo only.
- 26 October 2026: iOS 27.2 reached all supported iPhones as build 24B119.
This year’s pattern is unusual. Because iOS 27.1 stayed on iPhone Duo, most people jumped straight from iOS 27.0.1 to iOS 27.2. As a result, iOS 27.3 is really the second feature update for most iPhones.

iOS 27.3 release date and beta status
Apple’s developer release feed lists iOS 27.2 on 26 October as its newest iOS item. There is no iOS 27.3 beta in it. Also, the tracker Beta Profiles marks the first iOS 27.3 beta as expected next week, not released.
That matters for timing. Apple usually tests a feature update for several weeks before release. So the clock on iOS 27.3 has not started yet.
Past timing hints at the iOS 27.3 release date
Past releases give us the best clue. However, they need care this year because the version numbers shifted by one step.
| Update | Public release |
|---|---|
| iOS 17.3 | 22 January 2024 |
| iOS 18.1 | 28 October 2024 |
| iOS 18.2 | 11 December 2024 |
| iOS 18.3 | 27 January 2025 |
| iOS 26.1 | 3 November 2025 |
| iOS 26.2 | 12 December 2025 |
| iOS 26.3 | 11 February 2026 |
| iOS 27.2 | 26 October 2026 |
In past years, the first feature update for all iPhones came in late October or early November. Then the next one landed in mid December. This year, iOS 27.2 took that late October slot.
For a sense of beta length, the first iOS 26.2 beta reached developers around 5 November 2025. Apple then released iOS 26.2 on 12 December 2025. That is roughly five to six weeks of testing.
Likely iOS 27.3 release date (expectation)
Everything in this section is our estimate, not an Apple announcement.
If iOS 27.3 follows the slot that x.2 updates held in recent years, a release in mid December 2026 is likely. That would need a first beta in early November, which fits the current gap after iOS 27.2.
Still, there is a second path. If Apple treats it like a classic x.3 update, the iOS 27.3 release date could slip to late January or February 2027. Apple can also add an extra beta if bugs appear, which pushes things back.
In short, watch for the first beta. Once it arrives, add about five to six weeks for a rough guess.
What iOS 27.3 could bring (not confirmed)
Since no beta exists, nobody outside Apple has seen iOS 27.3 code. So any “leaked feature list” you see right now should be treated with caution.
However, Apple has made a few promises with no version attached. These could land in iOS 27.3, but Apple has not said so:
- More Siri AI languages: Apple says Chinese (Traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are coming by the end of the year.
- Siri AI in the EU: It is not available on iPhone in the EU yet. Apple says it is working with the EU, but gives no date.
- Paid AI access: Apple says expanded access to some server based AI features will cost a fee in the future.
Next, the first beta will show the real list, so check back when it lands.

Which iPhones will get iOS 27.3
iOS 27.3 is a point update, so it should support the same iPhones as iOS 27. According to Apple’s support page, iOS 27 runs on these models:
- Main lineup: iPhone 11 series and later, up to the iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air.
- Budget models: iPhone 16e and 17e, plus iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later.
Also, newer 2026 models such as iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro already run iOS 27. Keep in mind that the most advanced Siri AI features need recent hardware, such as iPhone Air or iPhone 17 Pro. So an older iPhone may get iOS 27.3 without every AI feature.
How to get ready before the iOS 27.3 release date
You do not need to wait for the update to prepare. First, follow these steps from Apple’s iPhone update guide:
- Back up first. Use iCloud or a computer, so you can recover if something goes wrong.
- Free some storage. If space is short, iOS may ask to remove apps for a while and reinstall them after.
- Plug in and use WiFi. Apple recommends power and a WiFi connection during the install.
- Check Automatic Updates. Go to Settings, General, Software Update, Automatic Updates to install overnight.
- Turn off VPN or proxy apps. Apple notes these can block the update servers.
Updates also carry security fixes. That is one more reason to stay current, alongside the tips in our guide to iPhone scam protection.
Want to try the beta?
The Apple Beta Software Program is free. Apple says to always back up your iPhone before you install a beta. In addition, you can unenroll at any time and move back to the next public release. Still, betas can be buggy, so avoid them on your only phone.
Bottom line
Apple has not set an iOS 27.3 release date, and no beta exists yet. Based on past timing, mid December 2026 is the most likely window, with January or February as the backup. For now, keep your iPhone on iOS 27.2, back it up, and watch for the first beta.
