The Samsung Galaxy S27 series is already the subject of a steady stream of leaks, and new reports this week suggest it could launch earlier than usual. Samsung has confirmed almost nothing yet, so it is easy to get lost in rumours. In this guide, we sort the S27 leaks into what is confirmed, what is likely and what is still uncertain. We cover the launch date, the four rumoured models, chips, cameras, batteries, AI features and expected prices, plus how the S27 could compare with the Galaxy S26.
What Samsung Has Confirmed About the Galaxy S27
Very little. Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27, its specs, prices or a launch event. However, two small details are on record:
- In June 2026, a Samsung chip executive confirmed that the Exynos 2700 chip is in development for top tier smartphones. He did not name the S27.
- Two new Samsung battery model numbers appeared in a South Korean safety database, which usually happens a few months before a launch.
Everything else in this article comes from leaks and reports, so we mark each detail clearly.
Galaxy S27 Launch Date
Rumour: a Korean tipster reported on 19 October 2026 that Samsung plans to launch the S27 series in early January 2027. In addition, an Indian certification filing for one of the batteries points to a launch in the first weeks of 2027.
That would be earlier than the Galaxy S26, which Samsung announced on 25 February 2026 and put on sale on 11 March 2026. In short, if the reports are right, you could see the S27 about seven weeks earlier than last year.
Galaxy S27 Models: Four Phones This Time
Rumour: the Galaxy S27 lineup will include four models instead of three:
| Model | Rumoured position |
|---|---|
| S27 | Entry flagship |
| Galaxy S27+ | Larger screen and battery |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | New model below the Ultra, smaller, no S Pen |
| S27 Ultra | Top model with S Pen |
The new S27 Pro is the most interesting change. It could give buyers Ultra level features in a smaller phone, which many people have asked for.
Galaxy S27 Chips: Exynos or Snapdragon?
The reports disagree here, so treat this section with care.
- One leaker claims the S27 Pro and Ultra will use a new Snapdragon chip worldwide, while the S27 and S27+ use Samsung’s Exynos 2700.
- Korean tipster Lanzuk reported on 9 October 2026 that only the Ultra will use Snapdragon worldwide, with the S27, S27+ and S27 Pro using Exynos 2700 in most markets outside the US. Separately, The Elec reported on 20 October 2026 that Exynos models will use Samsung’s new M2700 modem.
- Another tipster suggests the S27 Pro could use different chips in different regions.
For comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra uses Snapdragon worldwide, while the S26 and S26+ use Snapdragon in some regions and Exynos 2600 elsewhere. As a result, a similar split for the S27 looks likely.
Galaxy S27 Cameras, Battery and Display
Cameras (rumour)
The Galaxy S27 Ultra may drop its 10MP 3x zoom camera and move to three rear cameras: a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra wide and a 50MP telephoto. Another report says all S27 models will use three rear cameras.
Battery (rumour)
Reports point to bigger silicon carbon batteries, around 5,700mAh for the Ultra and 5,200mAh for the S27 Pro. Some leakers claim even larger numbers, but those sources are less reliable. The S27 Pro may also support 60W wired charging. By comparison, the S26 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery.
Display (rumour)
The S27 Ultra is expected to keep a 6.9 inch screen, while the S27 Pro may use a smaller 6.47 inch panel. In addition, the Pro and Ultra may use a newer OLED material for better brightness and efficiency.
Galaxy S27 AI Features
Rumour: the S27 series may ship with One UI 9.5 and a new “Galaxy AI 2.0”, with some advanced features possibly behind a paid plan. The Pro and Ultra may also add satellite messaging.
Today’s Galaxy phones already show where Samsung is heading. The S26 series launched with agentic AI and lets you choose between Bixby, Gemini and Perplexity as your assistant. Meanwhile, the current One UI 9 update adds even more AI tools, which we cover in our One UI 9 update guide. The S27 should build on this with Android 17, explained in our Android 17 update guide.
How to Read Galaxy S27 Leaks
Not all leaks are equal. Filings in safety and certification databases are usually reliable signs that a launch is near, because Samsung must file them before release. However, these filings often show only model numbers, not battery capacities. Supply chain reports from Korean outlets often prove right too. On the other hand, single posts on social media, especially about exact prices, change often. Therefore, the safest approach is to trust details that several sources repeat, and wait for Samsung’s own announcement before you decide anything.
Galaxy S27 Price: What to Expect
Rumour: a leaker shared these US price targets on 8 October 2026, as reported by Android Authority:
| Model | Rumoured US price |
|---|---|
| S27 | $899 |
| Galaxy S27+ | $1,099 |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | $1,299 |
| S27 Ultra | $1,399 |
However, memory and chip costs are rising. Reports say Samsung quietly raised Galaxy S26 prices in the US by $100 in October 2026, to $999, $1,199 and $1,399. So the final S27 prices could end up higher than these targets.
