Apple HomeView: Price, Siri AI Features, Release Date and Is It Worth It?

Apple HomeView is Apple’s first smart display. It puts a 7 inch screen, a speaker, a camera and the new Siri AI into one device that sits on your kitchen counter or hangs on a wall. Apple announced it on 13 October 2026. Since then, the question most people are searching right now is simple: what does it actually do, and is it worth $299?

So this guide answers that in plain words. You will get the price in each country, the full feature list, what Siri AI can and cannot do on it, who should buy it, and who should wait.

Quick answer: Apple HomeView costs $299 in the US, Ā£299 in the UK and ₹39,900 in India. Preorders are open now, and after that it arrives from 13 November 2026. Overall, it is best for homes that already use iPhones and Apple Home accessories. However, it is not sold in the European Union.

What is Apple HomeView?

Think of HomeView as a shared screen for the whole house. A family member can walk up to it, and it changes to show their calendar, messages and reminders. Then, when someone else walks up, it switches to that person. Meanwhile, guests can still use it for music, timers, weather and smart home controls, but they do not see anyone’s private data.

It competes with the Amazon Echo Show and the Google Nest Hub. Still, the big difference is that HomeView is built around Siri AI, the new, much smarter version of Siri that Apple launched this year. We covered the Siri AI change in our iOS 27 update guide.

Price and release date in every country

Apple opened preorders on 13 October 2026 in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India. In addition, Singapore preorders start on 15 October. Likewise, South Africa gets it through Apple Authorized Resellers. All of these countries get the device from Friday, 13 November 2026.

Also, both models cost the same. In the US, the tabletop and the Wall Mounted HomeView are each $299. Similarly, in India, Apple lists both at ₹39,900, which includes all taxes.

However, the wall model needs a mount, sold separately. Apple and Schneider Home offer three:

  • Power Mount USB C Wall Connector: from $59.95
  • Power Mount AC Wired: from $79.95
  • Power Mount PoE Wired: $129.95, coming in early 2027

As a result, a wall setup really starts at about $359 in the US before installation.

Why it is not coming to Europe

Apple is not selling HomeView in the European Union because Siri AI is not available in iOS there yet. Apple says it is talking with the EU to find a way forward, but there is no date. For this reason, if you live in the EU, a HomeView bought abroad would lose its main feature, so it is not worth importing.

Siri AI on HomeView: what it can really do

Above all, Siri AI is the reason HomeView exists. Here is what it brings, in simple terms.

It answers almost any question

Siri AI has broad world knowledge, so you can ask it a cooking question, a homework question or a trivia question and get a full answer, not a list of web links. Besides that, you can ask follow up questions and keep the conversation going, much like a chatbot.

It knows your personal context

If you have an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, Siri AI on HomeView can pull details from your own apps. For instance, it can find a party invite in your Calendar or the replies hidden in a group chat in Messages. On the other hand, without a supported iPhone, you still get the world knowledge and music discovery, but not the personal features.

Your chats follow you

A conversation you start on HomeView continues in the Siri app on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or Vision Pro. Also, Apple syncs this history privately through iCloud.

The limits you should know

  • Siri AI on HomeView is still marked as beta (HomeView software version 27.2).
  • It works in English first, in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore and South Africa. Canadian French comes later.
  • Some features that use Apple’s cloud models have daily limits. Apple says expanded access will cost a fee in the future.
  • The custom, more expressive Siri voices need a recent iPhone or an iPad with an M4 chip or newer.

Main features of Apple HomeView

A screen that adapts to the room

The 7 inch display gets as bright as 500 nits for a sunny kitchen and dims to 0.3 nits at night, which makes it usable on a bedside table. In addition, the screen changes based on how far away you are. From across the room it shows big, simple information. Then, as you walk closer, it shows more detail.

Faces you can customise

Like an Apple Watch, HomeView uses “faces”. The Photos face turns it into a photo frame with depth effects, and a shared album lets family members add pictures from anywhere. Similarly, the Flow face reacts to movement like moving art. There is also a Snoopy face and useful ones for Calendar and Weather.

Strong sound for its size

The tabletop model has two full range drivers in the screen, plus a down firing woofer and two passive radiators in the base. Apple uses software to tune the bass and loudness in real time. Besides this, you can group HomeView with HomePod, HomePod mini and AirPlay speakers for music in every room. The wall model has two drivers tuned for wall placement.

FaceTime, messages and intercom

The 12MP camera uses Center Stage, so it keeps everyone in frame as people move around the kitchen. You can reply to messages by voice or on the screen keyboard, and use Intercom to talk to other rooms or to family members’ iPhones and Apple Watches.

A kitchen helper

Find a recipe in Safari on your iPhone, and HomeView can turn it into step by step instructions with hands free timers. In addition, you can run several timers at once and see them as Live Activities.

Find My on the big screen

You can check where family members are (if they share their location) and find a lost iPhone, AirPods case or AirTag item.

HomeView as a smart home hub

HomeView is also a full home hub. You can control lights, locks, thermostats, blinds and cameras by touch or by voice. Two faces matter most here:

  • Home Modular: quick buttons for your favourite accessories.
  • Home Camera: shows up to nine camera feeds at the same time.

With a supported iCloud+ plan and compatible cameras, HomeView can recognise people, familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles, with end to end encryption. For recorded clips, it writes a short summary of the action, which saves you from scrubbing through footage. Another useful safety feature: it listens for the sound of smoke or carbon monoxide alarms and alerts your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.

It works with Matter and Works with Apple Home accessories, and with the new Apple Home Collection of cameras, thermostats and a lock made with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Apple says that collection starts arriving in December, with some items in early 2027.

Privacy: how a shared screen keeps your data separate

A shared device with a camera in the kitchen raises fair questions. Apple’s answer has three parts.

  1. Secure Exclaves on the A18 chip. In other words, camera and microphone data is processed in a locked section of the chip. Apple says the HomeView software, apps, the user and Apple itself cannot access that data.
  2. Two checks before showing private content. In particular, your messages and calendar only appear when HomeView recognises your face and your paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and was unlocked recently.
  3. Private Cloud Compute. Siri requests run on the device or on Apple’s private cloud servers, where Apple says the data is not stored or made available to anyone.

Of course, these are Apple’s claims. Therefore, independent reviews will test them after launch, so treat them as promises for now.

HomeView vs Echo Show vs Google Nest Hub

To sum up, HomeView is the most expensive of the three and has the smallest screen next to the Echo Show 11. However, what you pay extra for is Siri AI, deep iPhone integration, face based multi user profiles and Apple’s privacy design. As PhoneArena points out, Google’s newest smart display is still the Nest Hub from 2021, so Google has no fresh rival at this level right now.

Who should buy Apple HomeView?

Buy it if:

  • Your family already uses iPhones, and you want one shared screen for calendars, reminders, music and calls.
  • You have HomeKit or Matter smart home devices and want a proper dashboard with camera feeds.
  • You care about privacy and want an assistant that does not build an ad profile from your home.

Wait or skip if:

  • You use Android phones. Setup and personal features need an iPhone or iPad.
  • You want a big screen for watching videos. A tablet or the larger Echo Show is better.
  • You live in the EU, where it is not sold.
  • You want proven reviews first. Siri AI on HomeView is still in beta, and first reviews will land around the 13 November release.

What else Apple launched on the same day

HomeView was part of a wider home launch. On the same day Apple also announced a new Apple TV 4K with Siri AI, the second generation HomePod mini with Siri AI, and the Apple Home Collection of smart accessories. Taken together, they show Apple’s plan: Siri AI in every room, with HomeView as the main screen.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Apple HomeView cost?

It costs $299 in the US, Ā£299 in the UK and ₹39,900 in India. The Wall Mounted model costs the same, but you need to buy a mount separately, starting at $59.95.

When can I buy Apple HomeView?

Preorders opened on 13 October 2026 (15 October in Singapore). After that, deliveries and store availability start on 13 November 2026.

Does Apple HomeView work without an iPhone?

First, you need a compatible iPhone or iPad for setup and for personal features. Even so, guests and people without an iPhone can still use music, timers, weather and smart home controls.

Can Apple HomeView run apps from the App Store?

Apple only talks about a built in set of its own apps, like Music, Podcasts, Books and TV, plus compatible third party audio and video apps that come through your iPhone. Apple has not mentioned an App Store for HomeView, and reports before launch said it would not have one.

Is Apple HomeView available in India?

Yes. It is on preorder in India at ₹39,900 and arrives from 13 November 2026. Siri AI on HomeView works in English in India.

Why is HomeView not sold in Europe?

Siri AI is not available in iOS in the European Union yet, so Apple is not selling HomeView there. Meanwhile, Apple says it is working with the EU on a solution.

Final verdict

Apple HomeView is not just a speaker with a screen. Instead, it is Apple’s bet that Siri AI can become the shared assistant for the whole family. For iPhone homes with smart home devices, it looks like the most private and best connected smart display you can buy. If your house runs on Android or Alexa, paying $299 for a screen that leans on an iPhone makes little sense, and an Echo Show or a cheap tablet will serve you better.

Our advice: if you already live in Apple’s world, preorder before stock tightens near the holidays. Otherwise, if you are unsure, wait for the first full reviews in mid November.
